After nine years of traveling the world and mastering combat, Bruce Wayne finds himself in an infamous prison on the border of Eth Alth’eban. His brutal yet effective fighting draws the attention of David Cain—though it’s secretly Slade Wilson, disguised as Cain. Forming a temporary alliance, they fight their way out, and Slade recruits Bruce to the League of Shadows, led by the mysterious Ra’s al Ghul. Upon reaching the League’s headquarters, Bruce is ambushed by members of the League, each testing his skill and resolve. He endures grueling battles against elite fighters like Lady Shiva and Ubu, but ultimately collapses from a final blow delivered by Ra’s himself. Nursed back to health by Ra’s daughter, Talia al Ghul, Bruce misinterprets her care, leading to tension between them. As Bruce recovers, Ra’s reveals his plans to destroy Gotham, believing it to be beyond saving. Though Bruce completes his training, he rejects the League’s lethal methods and their vision of “cleansing” Gotham. In a daring escape, Bruce burns down the League’s temple. Ra’s is seemingly killed in the chaos, while Bruce saves Slade, who mistakenly believes Bruce betrayed the League for personal gain. The story sets the stage for future rivalries, with Bruce now firmly set on his path as a vigilante—defending Gotham on his own terms.
