George, like the other members of the Weasley family, sported flaming-red hair and freckles, and was shorter than his brothers Bill, Percy, and Ron, and somewhat stocky, like his brothers Fred and Charlie. However, he was still fairly tall, as he is mentioned as being taller than Harry Potter. As a result of an injury from Severus Snape's Sectumsempra during the Battle of the Seven Potters, George has lost one of his ears, briefly distinguishing him from his identical twin until Fred's death
