Born in Seattle, Washington, Dr. Gordon Freeman harbored an interest in the sciences from a young age. His earliest heroes included Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, and Richard Feynman. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at MIT, and after visiting the Institute for Experimental Physics in Innsbruck, Austria to observe a series of teleportation experiments, accepted a job at the Black Mesa Research facility.
