This movie sits in a kind of ill-defined space. It’s certainly not what anyone would call a “classic,” but on the other hand, it is well enough known among fans of the character and tends to be ranked as one of the best adaptations. One thing that’s for sure is that it has a stellar cast. So I thought, as a challenge, what if none of these stars had been available back in ‘84? Who would you have called?
