Hal's bright-eyed nine-year-old nephew, Nathan is a bundle of wonder and curiosity, obsessed with space and stars. He idolizes his Uncle Hal and shares a tender moment with him when Hal "gifts" him a star. Nathan represents the innocence Hal is fighting to protect—the future generation that deserves a universe safe enough to dream in.
