Devastated by the loss of Coast City, Hal Jordan snaps. He flies to Oa, demanding the Guardians give him the power to rewrite time and bring everyone back. Hal begins killing or stripping the rings from fellow Lanterns. John Stewart tries to stop him in a brutal "Marine vs. Pilot" dogfight in space, but Hal is too powerful. Hal absorbs the Central Power Battery, emerging as Parallax. He wipes out the Guardians and the Corps. The rings across the universe go cold. At the end, the last remaining Guardian, Ganthet, travels to Earth and he gives the ring to Kyle Rayner in an alley.
