Although, John had a belligerent attitude against authority figures but he had good reasons for this apparent dereliction of duty. John was later in love with Katma Tui, his trainer for the usage of his power ring. But when Hal’s lover and current Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris gets corrupted by an entity called the “Predator”, it commands her to attack Hal and John. When John learns that the insane Star Sapphire is coming after Katma Tui, he and Hal must work together to help Carol get back to her senses…
