DC Cinematic Universe - Chapter 1: The New Frontier

An 8-part Max series following veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate a recent attack on Hal's hometown of Coast City by a group of Manhunters. The Guardians of the Universe on Oa refuse to intervene as they believe it unlikely for the Manhunters to attack there again. John convinces Hal to investigate on their own, with the two bringing in other Lanterns Kilowog and Katma Tui. The group goes on an intergalactic investigation of several planets the Manhunters have attacked. Hal becomes increasingly irritable, not acting like himself, and getting into needless fights. The team trace back all the attacks to Warworld, home of the tyrant Mongul and the Yellow Lantern Power Battery. Mongul's plan is to turn the greatest Green Lantern into his own fighting slave by using a being of pure fear, Parallax. Parallax has taken over Hal Jordan's body, and now the Green Lantern Corps must fight both Mongul and Hal. The Guardians of the Universe bestow a special ring to John Stewart that is able to be used on the color yellow, allowing them to defeat Mongul. John decides the ring is too powerful and discards it, but the ring flies off to an unknown location.
