Batman is apparently murdered but the killer remains at large. Dick Grayson is retired, married to Barbara Gordon and they have a daughter together. After it's revealed that Batman was in fact murdered, Dick comes out of retirement and returns to his original mantle as Robin to find Batman's killer and bring him to justice.
