@richman I have this idea for a Shadowcat origin movie that features Shadow King as the main villain, and it would be set in the MCU, and it would be an reboot to X-Men with no introduction, like Wolverine, Beast, Jean Gray, you name it. and as for Kitty's parents, they more open minded about her as a mutant with powers, not have any discrimination towards her, nor the mutants.

@richman Plus, It's based on the Uncanny X-Men #143 comic, not to mention it was once pitched by director Tim Miller himself.
