When Batman dies in a Batcave explosion alongside Ra's al Ghul, his four protégés—Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin—inherit the Belfry and a final mission: protect Gotham without him. Their investigation into a murdered scientist uncovers the Court of Owls, a secret society led by Bruce Wayne's own uncle, Jacob Kane. As the Knights dismantle the Court, they are unwittingly serving Talia al Ghul, who orchestrated everything to eliminate her enemies. In the final battle, she reveals her ultimate weapon—a resurrected, brainwashed Batman. The Knights must free their mentor, stop the League of Shadows, and prove to Gotham that the city still has protectors.
