Maxine and Miriam, best friends and aspiring filmmakers, have spent their lives looking for the big break amidst hundreds of crappy shot on iPhone projects. Once a film festival arrives they seize the chance to make it big and get out of their small town, only to have to adjust their vision once they realize the presence of a horror legend means the festival prioritizes schlock and blood. Things go smoother once they accept help from charming butcher and effects contributor Tim, but a string of grisly murders makes Maxine suspect Tim to be a vicious bloodsucker.
