The GoldenEye of the title is a new Russian space weapon that can send a devastating electromagnetic pulse anywhere on Earth thanks to signals from Earth. Bond springs into action when a state-of-the-art Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter is stolen in Monte Carlo and heads straight for a secret scientific and military complex north of Arkhangelsk, Russia. It turns out that nine years earlier Bond had destroyed the complex (then working on biological weapons and explosives), losing Alec Trevelyan, Agent 006, who had been sent there with him. The film is based on novel of the same name.
