Thomas Howard is a Paleontologist and Biology Professor. Howard identified the creature as a prehistoric, semi-aquatic reptile, intermediary between land and sea reptiles, from the Jurassic period, based on carbon-dating the sediment and named it "Godzilla," in accordance with the legend.
