Jake lands a job at Krispy Kreme after months of job searching and starts his first day behind the counter. Though it’s not the career he envisioned, he’s relieved to have a paycheck. He meets Maya, a charismatic co-worker who’s more experienced and teaches him the ropes. By the end of the day, Jake feels overwhelmed, realizing the job is tougher than expected. However, he gets a glimmer of hope when he bonds with Maya and feels a connection forming.
