Years after the demise of Emperor Commodus and Maximus, a former farmer turned gladiator is inspired by the latter’s actions to go the distance in winning enough victories and attention in the Colosseum to be granted his freedom. Quickly gaining notoriety, he becomes the center of a power struggle between tyrannical twin emperors and a shrewd political player for the very fate of Rome.
