Retired Lt. Dan Taylor is Forrest Gump's former superior and now friend. He has a prosthetic leg. Despite being old, he still displays his character just like the first film. He is sarcastic, peaceful, relaxed, old man. He is still loving husband to his wife Susan. Retired Lt. Dan plays pivtoal role when he teach Forrest Jr. a valuable lesson on how to become a man and also laid a helping hand to Jenny Gump when she was victim of rape.
