Synopsis

Forensic scientist Barry Allen gets caught up in an investigation into the death of a scientist who was conducting experiments involving a mysterious entity known as the "Speed Force", and after a lab accident causes him to develop super speed as well as a connection to the Speed Force, he becomes a costumed crimefighter known as the Flash.

Description of "Hey speedster, up for a race?" (Mid-credits scene):

As Barry is shown running through the countryside one day, he is all of a sudden stopped by none other than Superman. After introducing himself, he tells Barry that he's thinking of putting together a team of like-minded heroes and thinks he might be a good fit for it, but first asks him if he's up for a race.
