The noktoa is native to the Saherimos / The Sacred Lands. Quite an elusive bird, rarely seen around human settlements, it is only rarely spotted freely in the wild. Often seen in the company of neelas, folklore suggests that noktoae are hidden from view by the neela's alleged ability to create illusions. What little is known of the noktoa has been gathered in highly antiquated studies of wild populations, as well as rare examples of domesticated specimens. Noktoae are crepuscular, most active at dawn and dusk, the same time as the bugs and rodents that make up their primary food source, including wyllops. Prospective noktoa owners with wyllops already in the home are encouraged to use caution.
