Instead of portraying the Mirage Studios origin of Splinter being a pet of Hamato Yoshi, this version of Splinter is Hamato Yoshi, after being turned to a rat. In the Japanese dub, his human identity is called Yoshihama Takeshi.
Obviously, don't nominate any human characters. Hybrids like Cheetah or The Lizard are okay, as are shapeshifters with one set animal form (eg Professor McGonagall.)
