Shadowbringers opens as the Warrior of Light, an adventurer blessed by Hydaelyn the Mothercrystal, is guided by a psychic disturbance to reach the Crystal Tower to avert a ruinous future and acquires an item that sends them completely into one of the Source's shards, the First, which is nearly consumed in light.
