Having been affected by a cosmic storm, four explorers gain superhuman powers as they alter their physical form in shocking ways. Reed Richards becomes Mr. Fantastic, able to stretch and twist his body at will, while his wife Sue Storm becomes the Invisible Woman. Her hot-shot younger brother Johnny becomes the fiery Human Torch, and Reed's old friend Ben Grimm becomes a rocky, super-strong monster called The Thing.
