Alternate Casting
The Fantastic Beasts film series follows the adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander in the years before the Harry Potter stories, primarily focusing on his efforts to protect magical creatures and his involvement in the conflict against the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. The series begins in 1926 New York when some of Newt's creatures escape, leading him to team up with No-Maj Jacob Kowalski, and witch Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein to recapture them, which puts them in the crosshairs of the wizarding authorities and the dangerous Grindelwald. The subsequent films detail Grindelwald's growing influence, Albus Dumbledore's role in opposing him, and the escalating global wizarding conflict.
