The story follows thirteen-year-old Kendra and her eleven year old brother Seth, left in their Grandpa Sorenson's care while their parents go on a Scandinavian cruise. What they did not know is that Grandpa Sorenson is a caretaker of Fablehaven, a sanctuary for magical creatures in the woods near his home.
