MI6 agent James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) rushes into action to rescue Oxford scientist Katya Nadanova (Diane Kruger) from a terrorist facility in Egypt. After rescuing Katya, Bond heads to a mining town in Peru to investigate the disappearance of a double-o agent. He becomes acquainted with a geologist named Serena St. Germaine (Rhona Mitra) and they both discover that Katya Nadanova's latest project, nanobots designed to repair nuclear reactors; have been stolen by maddened ex KGB former apprentice of Max Zorin, Nikolai Diavolo (Willem Dafoe). Together the two set off to New Orleans and beyond to uncover and destroy Diavolo's maddened scheme for world domination.
