The slashers are a kind of monsters who aparently kill and butcher innocent victims without a reason. Cassie Hack and his partner Vlad dedicate his life to hunt and end this creatures. I think a movie could fit this story without problem, although, maybe it would be more convinient to make it a tv show like Ash vs Evil Dead did. The movie, or the first season of the show, would introduce Cassie and Vlad and tell the events happened in the first volume of the series. Description of The Slasher (Bobby Brunswick):

The killer, an undead that arose to butcher the people of Eminence along with his army of euthanized pets. A formidable foe that will prove to make a greater challenge to the slasher hunters than any other they faced before. In life he was a nice man with a midly intellectual disability that make him the objective of mean jokes. When he dissapeared, he was believed to just have runned away from town, but with his reapearing as a slasher, new burried truths will arrive too.
