As a Mexican, I felt the need to reinvent this infamous aberration of a movie, full of racist stereotypes, disrespectful to the serious humanitarian crises in my country and disguised as a fifth rate musical made by a pedantic French man, I have decided to make my own version. In this new version, it is not a musical and rather than being an apology to organized crime, it is a film in kind of similar with Sebastian Leilo's “Una Mujer Fantastica” (A Fantastic Woman).
