Story Plot

a young girl named Dot gets lost in the vast large and wide bush of the Australian Wildlife and has trouble trying to find home and with a help of a kangaroo who can't find her joey she as well the rest of the animals decided to agree to take her home

    my take would be a stop motion animated movie something akin to Pinocchio

    the songs would have this Cole Porter and George Gershwin meets Sondheim influence as well the era appropriate music to use and in a similar fashion to Pinocchio and Isle of Dogs the soundtrack would heavily utilise various Australian instruments and wood based sounds to give with something Australian in spirit as well embracing the beauty of nature

    in terms it being an adaptation it would be it's own thing where it uses the book as a basis and jumping off point while keeping to the spirit of the source material as well not adhering too much on it
