The President of the United States, Donald Trump, immediately took to social media to respond to the athlete’s statement. “Women’s soccer player Megan Rapinoe just said she ‘will not go to the f***ing White House if we win.’ Leagues and teams love coming to the White House. I’m a huge fan of the US national team and women’s soccer, but Megan should win before she talks! Finish the job! We haven’t invited Megan or the team yet, but I am inviting the team now, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our country, the White House, or our flag, especially considering so much has been done for her and the team. Be proud of the flag you carry. The USA is great!” – wrote the president.
