After a crash shatters his career, Stephen Strange trains in the mystic arts at Kamar-Taj beside Baron Mordo. When Strange discovers the Ancient One is dying and secretly chooses him as Sorcerer Supreme, Mordo feels cheated of his destiny. Consumed by jealousy and wounded pride, Mordo steals forbidden relics and declares war on Strange to claim the title he believes is his.
