After a car accident cripples his hands, arrogant surgeon Stephen Strange seeks healing at Kamar-Taj, where the Ancient One teaches him magic. As he trains, Mordo, a fellow sorcerer, grows disillusioned, believing only the strongest deserve magic. Discovering the Ancient One’s forbidden use of dark power, Mordo betrays Kamar-Taj, stealing the Eclipse Codex, a grimoire that strips magic from others. As Mordo attacks sanctums worldwide, Strange rises to stop him, ultimately trapping him in a timeless void. Accepting his destiny as Earth’s mystical guardian, Strange watches over the Sanctum Sanctorum, unaware of the greater threats ahead.
