King Stefan is a supporting character from Disney's 1959 animated feature film Sleeping Beauty. He is the father of Princess Aurora and the husband of Queen Leah. After Stefan decides not to invite the evil fairy Maleficent to Aurora's christening, she curses the princess to die from pricking her finger on a spinning wheel's spindle, which incites the king's sixteen-year long struggle to protect his child from the fulfillment of a cruel prophecy. Stefan is shown as a tall, slender middle-aged man. He is shown wearing a large golden crown on his long black hair (he also has a decorated mustache and goatee).
