Set in both Burnside, Gotham City and National City, California, young Barbara Gordon, now 22 and only recently having put back on the cape and cowl after months of recuperation and a surgery from which she had a cybernetic implant on her spine, is determined to prove that she can handle being Batgirl, but the co-commissioner in the GCPD alongside both her father, Commissioner James Gordon, and Commander Jacob Kane, the father of Barbara’s mentor, Kate Kane isn’t making it easy for her. Having befriended National City reporter Nia Nal, aka the hero known as Dream Girl, Babs will grow into the hero she was meant to be.
