It's been nearly two years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne, who had recently lost Jason Todd. The Batman had slowly gone a dark path through those 2 years to the point where even the GCPD is unsure if he is a ally, which Clark is concerned on.
