With the exception of meeting Moonwing, her favorite hero, Mary Kane, a star athlete, discovered that she had no problems in life. She made the decision to dress up as Sunbird in order to attract his attention. Sunbird attempted to be a hero in her own right despite Moonwing treating her more like a nuisance than a partner in battling crime.
