While doing his job as being Sally Acorn's close bodyguard and director of rebuilding the Acorn Kingdom, Shadow gets an image of a menacing octopus, a Tenrec, a Fennec, a playtpus, and a mustached grin he couldn't handle seeing again. When he got that last image, he let out a Chaos Blast in his room! Now, Shadow knows his mission: find whoever was in those images, confirm his suspicions, and reunite with Team Dark. When he met Surge, he realized that shehave been through worse than Shadow has. Now the Ultimate Lifeform has become her comforter, having experienced pain and the need for revenge in the past. Maybe even her father figure!
