Dark Phoenix is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics X-Men characters. It is also the final installment in the X-Men film series to be produced by Bad Hat Harry Productions. The story follows Rogue as she turns to the Dark Side and becomes Lord Phoenix, Apprentice of Doctor Doom and the one who ends the golden age of heroes. Dark Phoenix premiered on December 15, 2019, at the Cannes Film Festival, then released worldwide on December 19, 2019. The film received positive reviews and is widely considered to be the best installment of the X-Men franchise, with praise for its mature tone, story, emotional weight, action sequences, score, visual effects, and the performances of Oldman, Irons, Depp, Dyer, and Eastwood.
