The real Ultron emerges, to cause mayhem and get revenge. The fake ultron died at the hands of Annihilus. He launches a brutal attack on New York, killing civilians and locking down the city. With the original Thunderbolts team unavailable, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine assembles a new team of anti-heroes, led by the Red Guardian. Meanwhile, Norman Osborn, survived his encounter with Spider-Man, dons the Iron Patriot suit. The Thunderbolts, also known as the Dark Avengers, must put aside their questionable morals and work together to stop Ultron's sinister plans. Ultron's ultimate goal is to create a world-destroying weapon using enslaved heroes and civilians as test subjects.
