Into this world steps Evelina Caruso, a sharp-witted but emotionally haunted ex-art thief who once called the town home. After abandoning her criminal life in favor of a clean break, Evelina is drawn back by the death of her estranged father, a former police chief who left her with a tangled web of dark secrets and an inheritance she’s unsure she wants. As she tries to settle her father’s estate, she finds herself at odds with the town's resident kingpin, Dario Conti, a charismatic but ruthless businessman who runs an international smuggling ring. Dario had a deep, almost romantic history with Evelina and knows her past far too well. When he pressures her to help him pull off a daring heist—a priceless Renaissance painting hidden in the vault of a wealthy recluse’s seaside villa—Evelina has no choice but to dive back into the underworld she left behind. Teaming up with her is Luca Ferraro, an idealistic and naive young local who idolized her father and is now suspicious of Dario’s power over the town.
