John Constantine (pronounced /ˈkɒnstəntaɪn/)[1] is a fictional character appearing in comic books published by DC Comics and its editorial line Vertigo, created by Alan Moore and cartoonist Stephen Bissette for The Saga of the Swamp Thing series in the number 37 (June 1985). He is the main character of the Hellblazer comics.
