John Constantine has managed not only to visit hell, but also to return back. He was born with an unwanted talent as the ability to recognize a cross between angels and demons who roam the earth in the guise of people. Constantine, under the pressure of circumstances, tries to commit suicide, just to get rid of painful visions but it was unsuccessful. Resurrected against his own will, he again finds himself alive. Now, marked by the seal of suicide and having received a temporary right to life, he patrols the border separating heaven and hell, vainly hoping for salvation through battle with the earthly proteges of evil.
