The story is set in 1946. The main character is Cara Brennan, the daughter of Irish immigrants who moved to the US fleeing the Irish Civil War that broke out in 1922. Cara was just 3 years old when she moved with her parents. During her stay in the US, she became interested in acting and as soon as she turned 20 decided to become an actress. She adopted the Hollywood nickname "Clarice Moon"( When she was a child, she and her parents always loved to watch the moon) and began applying for film roles.
