The climax would feature a great battle between the X-Men and the Fantastic 4. who woulc ultimately ioin forces to face a common threat: the Skrulls, thus paving the way for a Secret Invasion adaptation. In addition, the appearance of Daredevil and Deadpool was planned, althouqh it was never revealed what role they would play in the story Unfortunatelv, the proiect was cancelled due to poor reception of the last Fantastic 4 films, leading Fox to reboot both sagas with X-Men: First Class and the disastrous 2015 version of Fantastic 4
