Commander Tipton is an electronic warfare jet pilot flying EA-6B Prowlers with the "Shadowhawks" of Navy Electronic Attack Squadron 141 (VAQ-141). A native of Cornwallis, Obregon, he initially enlisted in the Navy as an Electronics (Nuclear) Technician and served aboard two submarines stationed on San Danilo, Califa, and Evers, Wellington, rising to the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class before attending Obregon State University on an ROTC scholarship. After graduating from Obregon State with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, he attended pilot training in NAS Pentecost. Wayne is also a graduate of Test Pilot School and TOPSLING Adversary Course, also logging hours in the F-14, F/A-18, and F-5E/F.
