John Keating, a progressive English teacher, tries to encourage his students to break free from the norm, go against the status quo and live life unapologetically. As an inspirational movie about teenage life and dreams, Dead Poets Society is exceptional, because it did much more than being an uplifting movie. In fact, it can even be argued that it is nowhere near encouraging. It is special because did not definitively push for the usual agenda
