William Batson, once a renowned vigilante, now old and consumed with regrets and a strained relationship with his family, watches powerless as his old nemesis Doctor Sivana returns with a plan to take over the world. However, a fateful meeting with a mysterious Wizard grants William the chance to return to his youthful body and gain powers whenever he says the word "Shazam!".
