nathanbates I like it. I think I might have had a similar idea for the what I wanted the actual Captain Marvel movie to be like (Carol gets involved in the Kree/Skull war and discovers her side were the aggressors.) Puts a nice, complicated twist on the title inheritance thing. Or maybe I totally misinterpreted what this was suppose to be about and I’m dumb ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ifancast @nathanbates No I think u got it! I want this film to be a sci fi war epic that explores the complexity both sides can have. Both the Kree and the Skrulls are capable of atrocities while having good people and those who don't fully understand the war on both sides. Tho the Kree are definitely worse since their motivation to fight is basically proving their own superiority. We will not learn Carol's backstory until the sequel, and her trilogy's arc will basically show her becoming her own person and hero. So basically the actual movie's but different, but done more appropriately for an intense sci fi war picture.

nathanbates @ifancast that sounds really cool. Id be really interested in seeing Mar-Vell’s character develop. Hawke does compromised mentor figure really well.

ifancast @nathanbates Thank you! I'm thinking Mar-Vell is a mix between Qui-Gon Jinn and Duke Leto. A highly skilled, truly good man within a corrupt system. He becomes disillusioned with the Kree throughout the film, and his values are also deeply instilled in Carol. Tho he does die in the end, so Carol is left as basically the only decent person in the Kree military
