It is World War II, on the eve of D-Day. Captain America leads the Invaders to dismantle yet another Hydra operation, but the Red Skull escapes. Allied intelligence discovers a powerful weapon, known only as the Cosmic Cube, capable of altering not just the course of the war but the very fabric of reality; the Nazis, and the Red Skull in particular, covet it. With no time to rally the Invaders, Steve, alongside Bucky, Peggy Carter, and the Howling Commandos ,embarks on his most critical mission yet, one that could change the course of the war and human history forever. It is also their final mission together, an event destined to shape the history of the Marvel Universe for generations to come. This is an epic tale, the conclusion of Captain America’s World War II trilogy, filled with tragedy, death, betrayal, romance, and loyalty. Captain America and the Red Skull stand face-to-face: two ideologies, two men, and two diametrically opposed ways of life locked in conflict. One man fights for freedom, while the other seeks to spread darkness and his own twisted truth across the globe. They clash, neither willing to yield even an inch. It is a fight for tomorrow. The final battle reaches its climax, and only one will emerge victorious, even if it means sacrificing everything he holds dear, including his own life.
