The Technologist was in Nigeria when the KVA, led by Hades ordered a massive hostage-taking operation, with Samuel Abidoyo and other technologists as the main targets. When an Atlas squad led by Mitchell and supported by Ajani rescued the Prime Minister, he revealed that the KVA's target was in fact the Technologist. After finding out the Technologist was captured again by the KVA, Gideon and Mitchel saved him again, bringing him to Atlas. Later in a private meeting, the Technologist reported to Irons about the KVA's intention to attack nuclear plants. Irons, however, ignored it and instead shot the man, proving that he deliberately allowed the attacks to occur to improve Atlas' reputation.
