"By Dawn's Early Light" is a 1990 made-for-television movie directed by Jack Sholder. The film portrays a fictional scenario in which a group of rogue Soviet military officers launch a nuclear attack. The story follows the efforts of the American president (played by Martin Landau) and his advisors to prevent an all-out nuclear war, while a group of US Air Force officers aboard a nuclear-armed bomber attempt to carry out a retaliatory strike against the Soviet Union.
